Open Social

As Web3 began to get mainstream attention, a new category emerged: Web3 social. Human beings are tribal creatures. Communication and a sense of belonging have long been deeply engraved in our DNA.

Web3 social networking fills the same human gap as web2 social networking: connection. So, what is Web3 social? It is a new open social model, which is user centric rather than platform centric.

In Web3 social, users have their identity, data, and content they create for applications and protocols. Web3 social networking is a springboard to enter the Dao (decentralized autonomous organization) and platform free social network world.

Of course, Web3 is a new era of social media, where users have networks and protocols, and create positive external conditions for non users.

Web3 social products use Web3's original value propositions, such as user ownership, to empower users, while using the familiar web2 social model to create recognizable user experience.

Using open data, humans are aggregating identities into their wallets. Their wallets contain membership of social clubs, NFTs that reflect their personalities, and even activities or wonderful moments they have participated in.

The tracks of these data travel with users, and they are also public. Application developers use these data to establish social maps and reputation systems, thus forming the connection organization of Web3 social applications.

Although the connection organization of Web3 applications is (currently) centralized, many applications are committed to letting users have the value they create. Users put their profiles, reputation, and social maps on the chain and then use them by other networks or Daos.

Dao is a platform free social network. They allow members to coordinate capital and resources to accomplish tasks. At this stage, there have been two types of Dao use cases that emphasize socialization: social Dao and investment Dao.

Social Dao: users form a community on shared values and interests. Social Daos enable communities to coordinate, plan roles, and motivate contributors to accomplish tasks. A use case of social Dao may be the creator / fan club, who jointly create content and jointly grow brand value.

Invest in Dao: users really own their assets in Web3. Dao allows groups of friends / strangers to own anything. Through investment and ownership sharing, users play an active role in the development of the products and communities they own. Community coordinates group action, and community appears in group action.
